GRANT GUIDELINES
Grants are not based on need and are not given to fund “fees to play” or the initial participation in an educational activity (i.e. local baseball and/or travel teams, AAU, Club Volleyball or fees for initial science or vocational classes / competition). Grants are considered for individuals, teams, classes or recognized groups who have “earned” because of their success in the initial stage of activity, the opportunity to participate at the next, higher level. For instance robotic or athletic teams that win a local competition and “earn” or receive an invitation to compete regionally or beyond.
Applicants must be Marion County residents between the ages of 10 and 25. The Marion County Youth Foundation requires the applicant to earn part of the finances needed to participate in the activity and will not fund participation at 100%. Applications will be reviewed by the Recipient Evaluation Committee and all awards will be based on merit without regard to color, race, national origin, gender, religion, or physical or mental impairment.
